MONITORING BLOOD FOR OPTIMUM OLYMPIC PERFORMANCE

Testing for Excellence

This was a quick little weekend job. Of course, this assignment came along with another one right when my mum & Don were visiting. That's just how it goes, eh? The aqua green is a little neony on screen but I swear it looks great in print.

So the article was about how athletes and their coaches were getting quite technical for the olympics and monitoring their blood. Not only do the trainers take psycholigical factors into consideration when they design their athletes training sequences but they also factor in genetics and blood-borne markers. This
helps them figure out what is going on with the athletes heart-rate variability, and neuromuscular excitability. The coaches can then devise training schedules to achieve peak performances when the time comes for the big event.
